Vibrationally excited HC3N emission in NGC 1068: tracing the recent star formation in the starburst ring

چکیده

Using ALMA data, we have studied the HC$_3$N and continuum emission in starburst ring (SB ring) circumnuclear disc (CND) of SB/AGN composite galaxy NGC 1068. We detected from vibrationally excited (HC$_3$N*) only towards one star-forming region SB ring. Remarkably, HC$_3$N* was not CND despite its large $v=0$ column density. From LTE non-LTE modelling HC$_3$N*, obtained a dust temperature $ T_\text{dust} \sim 250$ K density $n_{\text{H}_2}=6\times10^5$ cm$^{-3}$ for this region. The estimated IR luminosity $5.8\times10^8$ L$_\odot$ is typical proto-Super Star Clusters (proto-SSC) observed 253. use emissions at $147$ GHz $350$ GHz, along with CO Pa $\alpha$, to estimate ages other $14$ SSCs find youngest be associated connecting nuclear bar ring, supporting scenario sequential star formation. For CND, our analysis yields $T_\text{dust} \leqslant 100$ $n_{\text{H}_2}\sim(3-6)\times10^5$cm$^{-3}$. very different temperatures found proto-SSC indicates that, while being efficiently heated inside by radiation massive proto-stars, externally AGN, which optically thin case can heat $56$ K. discuss implications non-detection near luminous AGN 1068 on interpretation galaxies 4418 Arp 220.

The Luminous Starburst Ring in NGC 7771: Sequential Star Formation?

Only two of the twenty highly luminous starburst galaxies analyzed by Smith et al. exhibit circumnuclear rings of star formation. These galaxies provide a link between ∼ 10L⊙ luminosity class systems and classical, less–luminous ringed systems. In this paper, we report the discovery of a near–infrared counterpart to the 1.6 kpc diameter nuclear ring of radio emission in NGC 7771 (UGC 12815). Th...

Vibrationally Excited Hcn in the Luminous Infrared Galaxy Ngc 4418

Infrared pumping and its effect on the excitation of HCN molecules can be important when using rotational lines of HCN to probe dense molecular gas in galaxy nuclei. We report the first extragalactic detection of (sub)millimeter rotational lines of vibrationally excited HCN, in the dust-enshrouded nucleus of the luminous infrared galaxy NGC 4418. We estimate the excitation temperature of Tvib ≈...

Star-formation in the central kpc of the starburst/LINER galaxy NGC 1614

Aims. The aim is to investigate the star-formation and LINER (low ionization nuclear emission line region) activity within the central kiloparsec of the galaxy NGC 1614. In this paper the radio continuum morphology, which provides a tracer of both nuclear and star-formation activity, and the distribution and dynamics of the cold molecular and atomic gas feeding this activity, are studied. In pa...

Continuum emission in NGC 1068 and NGC 3147 : Indications for a turnover in the core spectra ⋆

We present new interferometric observations of the continuum emission at mm wavelengths in the Seyfert galaxies NGC 1068 and NGC 3147. Three mm continuum peaks are detected in NGC 1068, one centered on the core, one associated with the jet and the third one with the counter-jet. This is the first significant detection of the radio jet and counter-jet at mm wavelengths in NGC 1068. While the flu...
